Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Labor and Delivery RNs!

Job Description:


- Unit: Birthing Center/Mother Baby L&D
- Shift: 12-hour Days; Every other weekend (Sat and Sun)
- Patient Volume: Average of 170-190 births per month
- Bed Capacity:
- L&D Beds: 13
- Postpartum Beds: 14
- Triage Beds: 2
- OR Suites for C-Sections: 2
- Care Guidelines: Follow AWHONN guidelines; Ratios of 1:2 L&D & 1:3-4 couplets
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Prefer intermediate or advanced FHM
- Experience Needed:
- Minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience
- Comfort attending deliveries independently and circulating during C-sections
- Proficient in assisting with baby transitions
- Key Skills:
- Titration of drips (e.g., Magnesium, Pitocin, Insulin)
- Ability to provide care for high-risk patients (e.g., Preeclampsia, Diabetic issues)
- Support Staff:
- Surgical tech available 24/7
- Patient care assistant with clerical duties on each shift
- On-Site Specialists:
- OB hospitalist/OBGYN in-house 24/7
- NNP (Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) available 24/7 in the nursery
- OB anesthesia provider on-site 24/7
- Charting System: EPIC
- Orientation:
- Unit-based educator for an 8-hour compliance day
- 8-hour EPIC training
- 2-3 days of unit-specific orientation
- Scheduling:
- Block scheduling available upon request
- Weekend requirements: Every other weekend
- Rotating holiday requirements with permanent staff
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment, and 3 shifts for shorter assignments
- Floating Requirements:
- Function within Mother Baby and Postpartum unit
- No floating to NICU or outside the labor department
