About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: ICU, Med Surg, ER, NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6pm - 6:30am Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Must have Registered Respiratory Therapy credentials. ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP certifications are required. Level 3 NICU skills to work proficiently in this unit. Acute care experience with Med Surg, ER, and ICU. Good time management skills for handling heavy workloads. Experience managing Bipaps, ventilators, and Heated High Flow units. Assisting with intubations and bedside bronchs is necessary. Proficient EMR charting is required. Description: The purpose of this unit profile is to provide an understanding of the unit. The unit has 160 beds and a staff of 32. Day shift staff requirements include a minimum of 5-6 staff. Night shift staff requirements include a minimum of 4-4.5 staff. Patient ratios are based on a specific RVU System. The unit is equipped with various types of equipment, including vents, bipaps, and CPAPs. Typical hiring skills include the ability to manage a high acuity workload. The ideal candidate should have a willingness to assist with higher loads and higher acuity patients. Self-motivation and independence are essential traits. The dress code includes scrub color of pewter gray.
