Custodial Specialist Senior About This Role Kansas State University seeks an energetic, dependable Custodial Specialist Senior to help us fulfill our mission of learning, scholarship, creative endeavor, and research by creating and maintaining an environment which contributes to the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position plays an integral role in maintaining and sustaining university structural assets. It is responsible for first impressions, thus playing an important role in student & faculty recruitment and retention. The position performs a variety of custodial functions to include cleaning, operating & programming robotic equipment, disinfecting, minor equipment repair and preventative maintenance. It will require utilizing a broad array of chemicals and operating a variety of power equipment in maintenance of floors and other duties. The position will also perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks as assigned by leadership and must be able to work with minimal supervision. It requires frequent effective interaction with university students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Direct supervision is from the Custodial Services Supervisor. Hours are 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., with occasional callbacks for emergencies. About Us The Division of Facilities is an action-oriented service organization within the K‑State family. What You’ll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications Driver's license Preferred Qualifications Ability to operate a wide variety of commercial janitorial equipment and understand/follow explicit instructions, both oral and written. Other Requirements Could be called into work in emergency situations including but not limited to inclement weather, flooding caused by weather, accidents or infrastructure failure and recovery from other catastrophic events (tornado, fire, etc.).
