Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

Location: Summit, State

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description: The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care. The unit consists of two sections, with 34 beds in unit 630 and 25 beds in unit 633. Our nursing team ensures optimal patient experiences through effective communication, hourly rounding, and maintaining care standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients with cardiac and complex medical conditions.
• Administer medications, including scheduled cardiac and insulin drips.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, and central line dressing changes.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment including bipaps, high-flow oxygen systems, and wound vacs.
• Conduct hourly rounding on days and every two-hour rounding on nights.
• Manage patient care effectively with a supportive team environment, utilizing techs for patient assistance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS required.
• Experience with EKG rhythm interpretation and managing cardiac drips.
• Preferred experience with peritoneal dialysis, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tube insertions.
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to interpret complex clinical data.
