Position Summary

Scarborough Public Schools seeks a Multilingual Learner (MLL) / Academic Instructor to join Scarborough Adult Education as a halftime employee.


Under the direction of the Adult Education Director, this position includes daytime instruction, intake and assessment of adult students, work with online learning systems and state data reporting, and collaboration with adult volunteers within the MLL program.

The ideal candidate will bring a commitment to adult learners and an excitement for learning.

Schedule:

• Halftime position
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree & Certification in Education, Adult Education or a related field

Preferred:

• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency using Google Drive and student data systems
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Ability to coordinate curriculum and instructional programming
• Previous experience teaching adult learners
• Experience overseeing volunteer programs or community partnerships
• Experience using educational data to guide program improvements

Essential Responsibilities:

Instruction and Student Support

• Provide daytime instruction to adult learners
• Conduct student intakes and assessments
• Oversee student registrations and assessment testing
• Work collaboratively with adult volunteers in the MLL program

Program Management and Coordination

• Manage online learning systems and state data reports
• Oversee data collection for state reporting requirements
• Coordinate curriculum and instructional programming
• Apply instructional research and educational practices to support program improvement

Collaboration and Community Engagement

• Work effectively with diverse populations
• Coordinate community partnerships and volunteer programs
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community partners to support program goals
