Quality Assurance InspectorThe Quality Assurance Inspector works under direct supervision to ensure processes related to quality are followed, production processes are monitored, purchased components are inspected and requirements outlined in drawings and specifications are met.Key Areas of Responsibilities:Performs visual and dimensional inspection of manufactured and purchased parts to ensure conformance to internal requirements and customer specifications.Performs tests that verify the functionality of a product or part utilizing appropriate measuring and testing equipment.Monitors production processes to ensure conformance to engineering specifications.Ensures processes related to the Quality Management System are understood and followed.Performs process audits to ensure adherence to work instructions.Performs dock audits to ensure adherence to shipping and packaging standards.Records data into databases that contain inspection records.Maintains work area by cleaning, organizing, and sweeping, as necessary.Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work area.This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Other duties may be required to be undertaken which fall within the scope and general level of responsibility attached to the role.Key Performance Indicators:Develops the skills obtained through prior experience and/or formal training to perform key responsibilities as provided by the Quality Manager.Ability to follow standard operating procedures and apply basic analytical skills to perform activities.Works with others in a manner that promotes teamwork, learning and development of self and of others.Uses tools and equipment safely and properly.Follows procedures and accurately documents results.Completes work assignments on a timely basis.Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma requiredDegree in Engineering or a technical field is a plusExperience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferredPrevious quality experience is preferredPrevious experience with a Quality Management System is preferredAbility to operate effectively both as an individual and as a part of a teamBasic mechanical and math aptitudeBasic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet proficiencyBasic mental and visual attention to detailBasic written and verbal communication skillsBasic organizational skills and ability to multi-taskAbility to read simple blueprintsAbility to use calibrated gages, tools, and fixturesPhysical Effort and Work Environment:Work performed in a shop environmentFrequent sitting, standing, walking, bending and reachingFrequent lifting of up to 30 poundsOccasional lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering higher weight with assistanceFrequently exposed to noise.
