Personal Care Assistant- CNA - School System, Ashburn, VA (Elementary School -Locals Only) ID: 9194241

Minimum 6 months experience as a CNA or PCA, patient care settings.

Protouch Staffing seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct support to a student with special health needs in an elementary school setting. This is a vital role focused on ensuring the student's safety, health, and well-being throughout the school day. You will work closely with teachers, school nurses, and other support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

• Student Care: Provide direct personal care to the student, which may include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, eating, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.

• Medical Support: Monitor the student's overall health and well-being. This may involve providing specialized care such as G-tube feedings, managing medical equipment, and administering medication as delegated by the school nurse.

• Mobility Assistance: Help the student with mobility, including transferring, ambulation, and proper positioning as needed.

• Classroom Support: Assist the student with classroom activities and assignments as directed by the teacher. You will also provide support during lunchtime, recess, and other school-based activities.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of student care, health observations, and any incidents.

• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the school nurse, classroom teacher, and other school staff to ensure a coordinated approach to the student's care and educational plan.

• Safety: Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and follow all safety protocols, including initiating CPR and emergency calls when appropriate.

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a patient care setting.

• Experience working with children, especially in a school or pediatric setting, is a plus.

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR/First Aid certification is required.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively under the supervision of a licensed nurse and classroom teacher.

• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor.

• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and a drug test.

Minimum 6 months experience as a CNA or PCA, patient care settings.

Duties:

caring for young and adolescent school age children in a school setting. performing personal care duties that may consist of G-Tube feedings, daily hygiene, monitoring overall health and well being of the patient while that are attending school.

(Elementary, Middle or High School students)

Variable 5x8 hour days, 40 hours per week. Various locations through Loudoun County, VA caring for patients in a school setting.

BLS and Virginia CNA license required.

Must pass a fingerprint background checks and drug screen

ASAP start! This will be an ongoing contract for the entire school year
