Medical Assistant Position

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join a small, patient-focused medical office in Lucedale, MS. This is a full-time position supporting both clinical and front desk duties in a close-knit, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, values organization, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking and recording vital signs and medical histories
• Assist provider during examinations and minor procedures
• Administer injections, medications, and basic lab procedures as directed
• Schedule patient appointments and manage daily patient flow
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
• Answer phones, greet patients, and assist at the front desk as needed
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for use
• Follow all HIPAA, safety, and sanitation guidelines

Requirements

• Experience taking and recording patient vital signs is required
• Previous experience in a medical office preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Previous experience as a medical assistant or medical receptionist (2+ years preferred)
