Pediatric Gastroenterologist

Overview

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist with a primary focus in general pediatric gastroenterology. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a vibrant and collegial academic environment, and work in a children’s hospital ranked as one of the best in the U.S. The physician will provide outpatient and inpatient care for pediatric gastroenterology patients and will include teaching pediatric residents and GI fellows. The clinical focus will include general pediatric gastroenterology and there is an expectation for outreach at satellite clinics. Although the primary focus of this position is clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work including education, investigation, and administration, as well as advocacy. Clinical positions without an expectation for academic work are also available.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient care for pediatric gastroenterology patients.
• Teach pediatric residents and GI fellows.
• Serve as outreach provider at satellite clinics.
• Engage in academic activities, including education, investigation, administration, and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a Pediatrics Residency and a Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
• Preferably eligible for a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Alternatively, a clinical attending appointment without expectation for academic work.
