Position Overview

As the Kitchen Director, you will oversee the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the quality and consistency of food preparation, sanitation, and team development. You will lead, train, and inspire a team of kitchen staff to uphold Chick-fil-A's high standards of food safety, speed, and quality. You will work closely with the restaurant management team to provide a seamless experience for our guests while maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficiency, productivity, and a positive work environment.
• Conduct regular training sessions for new and existing staff, focusing on food safety, cooking techniques, and Chick-fil-A's high standards.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to improve individual and team performance.
• Oversee the preparation and cooking of all menu items, ensuring quality, taste, and consistency.
• Maintain a keen focus on food presentation and portion control.
• Ensure that all food safety and health regulations are followed to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.
• Manage kitchen inventory and ensure that all food supplies are stocked, rotated, and properly stored.
• Work closely with the management team to place orders and manage cost control efforts while reducing waste.
• Enforce sanitation and safety practices in the kitchen and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
• Monitor temperatures of food, cooking equipment, and storage areas to meet safety standards.
• Assist with kitchen scheduling and shift management to ensure appropriate staffing levels during peak hours.
• Help streamline kitchen workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce food preparation times.
• Collaborate with front-of-house and management teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years in a kitchen management or leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in managing kitchen teams, training, and implementing operational standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in food safety standards, including health and safety compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new skills and have a growth mindset.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with high heat and noise levels.
• Ability to walk in and out of cooler and walk-in freezer.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
