About the Role:

The Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation standards within the accommodation and food services industry. This position is responsible for efficiently handling the laundering, drying, folding, and organizing of linens, uniforms, and other textiles to ensure a continuous supply of clean materials. The role requires attention to detail to identify stains, damages, or wear and to report any issues promptly to management. The Laundry Attendant contributes to the overall guest experience by supporting the operational flow and hygiene standards of the establishment. This position demands reliability, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic understanding of laundry procedures and stain removal techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a laundry or housekeeping environment within the accommodation or food services industry.
• Familiarity with industrial laundry chemicals and safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and record-keeping.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items according to established procedures.
• Operate commercial laundry machines and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to supervisors for repair or replacement.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
• Track laundry inventory and communicate with housekeeping or kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery and availability of clean items.

The Laundry Attendant utilizes their knowledge of laundry processes and equipment operation daily to ensure efficient and effective cleaning of textiles. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting items for stains or damage, ensuring only high-quality linens are returned to service. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are essential for handling heavy loads and operating machinery safely throughout the shift. Communication skills facilitate coordination with housekeeping and kitchen teams to meet operational demands and maintain workflow.
