Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy interventions following the OT plan of care
• Help patients build independence and confidence in daily activities
• Document patient progress accurately and keep the care team informed
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and goals
• Partner with the supervising OT to adjust care based on patient response
• Follow safety, infection control, and compliance protocols to keep everyone healthy

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active COTA license in Iowa or ability to obtain before start
• Strong teamwork skills and a patient-centered approach
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Passion for helping others achieve functional independence

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Occupational therapy interventions and treatment plans
• Patient education and family communication
• Clinical documentation and progress notes
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Patient care and empathetic bedside manner
• Teamwork and collaboration with supervising OT
