Charge R.N. DOU - Full Time - Nights - 12hr ICH

Job Summary The Charge Nurse is responsible for supervising staff and the operation and overall flow of the unit on the designated shift, and serves as a role model for all staff. The Charge Nurse coordinates unit schedules and staff assignments, participates in the performance appraisal process, and ensures staff meet the approved Standards of Practice. The role promotes cooperative working relationships with physicians and other health care providers. Patient care is provided as needed, and the Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The Charge Nurse works as a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units, ensuring that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the unit's standard of care. Job Requirements Minimum two years of acute care experience required. Excellent customer service skills required. California RN license. BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire/transfer. NIH Stroke Scale Certification “A” required within 3 months of hire/transfer for those working at FPH.
