RN Float Pool Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Float Pool Night Shift role provides skilled nursing care across multiple inpatient units including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, Orthopedics/Neurology, and Sub-Acute. This position involves utilizing the nursing process, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. The nurse will develop and execute individualized patient care plans, document care accurately, and participate in performance improvement activities. Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical expertise are essential to support patient safety and experience during night shifts. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Education verification as per facility requirements.
• Experience in nursing care, preferably in hospital or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and patient care planning skills.
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in multiple inpatient units such as Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, Orthopedics/Neurology, and Sub-Acute.
• Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience.
• Familiarity with performance improvement and shared governance processes.

Special Considerations:

• Must be willing and able to float to multiple inpatient units as needed.
• Position requires working every other weekend and holidays.
• Night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic hospital environment.

Scheduling:

• Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts required.
• Shift assignments may vary based on unit needs due to float pool responsibilities.
