MRO Buyer

Job Title: MRO Buyer Company: AISIN World Corp. of America Department: Purchasing, Material & Machinery Location: Durham, IN or Cibolo, TX Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Issue purchase orders for MRO items that support cost, quality and delivery goals.
- Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance and act to deliver cost savings.
- Negotiate cost savings/cost avoidance with suppliers.
- Support inventory reduction initiatives.
- Build long-term supplier partnership relationships.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
- Experience in purchasing with an understanding of MRO.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Solicit/analyze proposals to achieve lowest total cost objectives.
- Generate/disseminate required documents through the use of Oracle, Microsoft Office, and related systems, and effectively communicate throughout.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Previous MRO purchasing
- Automotive Purchasing experience
- Direct Materials Purchasing experience
- Understanding of commodity market trends
- Working knowledge of ERP procedures/concepts
- Associate's degree preferred.
- Approximately 10 %
- Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Must perform job duties onsite, when necessary, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
- Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
- Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
- Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
