Welder PositionSturgeon Electric Manufacturing has an opening for a highly skilled welder. Your daily responsibilities will include but not limited to reviewing specifications, laying out metal components, cutting, fabricating, and welding those pieces together to create custom fabrications. We expect our welders and fabricators to complete each job within specific deadlines. Our ideal candidate has at least three years of welding experience and a working knowledge of standard welding tools and techniques.Essential functions include:Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications.Produce templates and other work aidsProvide material take-off and rough drawings when neededUtilize industry tools and equipment, including powered saws, hydraulic press brake, shears, portable grinders, fiber laser, plasma cutter, metal lathes, and mills.Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles.Weld parts out of mild steel, galvanized metal, stainless steel, and sheet metal, in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions.Maintain proper equipment; repair when neededQualifications include:Hydraulic or CNC Press Brake experienceSheet Metal Lasers experienceCNC TableHigh School diploma or equivalentFollow all safety precautions3+ years of professional welding experience preferredSheet metal experience necessary. Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Galvanized, 11ga. To 18ga.
