Principal Software Engineer, Customer Engineering

Salary: $114,600 - 234,600 per year Requirements:

• We bring 5+ years of distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment.
• We have development experience in Java, C++, or C#, along with scripting languages.
• We have experience using scripting and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and/or Kubernetes.
• We have worked with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, to manage distributed systems.
• We have strong Linux expertise, with hands-on experience across Oracle Linux, RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian, including administration, package management, shell scripting, and performance tuning.
• We have experience collaborating with cloud platform teams and aligning with requirements across compute, networking, storage, and identity.
• We have a solid grasp of networking principles, security concepts, and industry best practices.
• We have excellent problem-solving ability and can diagnose complex issues and drive them to resolution in a fast-moving environment.
• We communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and can present complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
• We have strong documentation skills, including documenting infrastructure designs, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.

• We partner with customer engineering leadership and OCI engineering leadership to help ensure customer success.
• We take ownership of issues and work through solutions.
• We evaluate solutions carefully and identify and document potential issues affecting our customers.
• We work with engineering teams to design infrastructure components such as cloud resources, distributed computing systems, and data storage solutions that support customer workflows.
• We troubleshoot infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability issues, then implement fixes to reduce risk and minimize downtime.
• We document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.
• We lead initiatives across engineering, operations, and leadership with minimal supervision.
