The Role As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Simulation, you will lead test creation strategy and execution for GM’s enterprise Autonomous Driving Program. In this role, you will help build and scale simulation-based test products that enable rapid development of our AV stack and validate readiness for real-world deployment. Work spans architecture, safety requirements, model development, data labeling, and continuous iteration, all in close partnership with engineering, product, and operations. This is a highly visible opportunity to shape how simulation accelerates autonomy at enterprise scale. What You’ll Do Own and evolve the roadmap for simulation test creation across key AV driving behaviors, balancing immediate delivery with long-term scalability Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations to translate real-world driving scenarios into high-quality simulation tests Define and monitor KPIs, program metrics, and validation milestones to ensure confidence in simulation outputs and ML performance Identify risks early across software, data, and operations, and drive clear mitigation plans Lead program reviews and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Improve how simulation tests are created, labeled, and validated to increase speed, quality, and repeatability Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) 5+ years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or a related role, with exposure to AI/ML, robotics, or complex software systems Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field Experience working across cross-functional programs involving software, data, and/or hardware Strong project management fundamentals, including planning, prioritization, and execution tracking Clear, effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across engineering, partners, and customers Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications) Exposure to vendor or partner management, particularly in data or test-related workflows, is a plus Exposure to autonomous vehicles, robotics, or simulation-based development (industry, academic, or internship experience) Background in automotive, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical environments Familiarity with test strategy, validation processes, or simulation tooling Experience improving processes or helping scale programs as complexity grows Compensation The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.
