We are seeking a self-motivated, bilingual (English/Spanish) Paralegal to join our Criminal Defense Department.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectivenessHandle communication with clients, witnesses etc.Administratively support and attend trials when neededPrepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimonyConduct investigations and statistical/documentary researchLocate and develop case relevant informationType up and file basic legal documents and correspondenceAnswer and direct phone callsMaintain contact listsMonitor deadlines and juggle calendarsProvide accurate Spanish/English interpretation for attorneys, clients, witnesses, and other individuals during in-office and out-of-office meetings and proceedings.Qualifications & Skills:Experience as legal assistant or legal secretaryFamiliarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court systemSatisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal officeComputer literacyFluency in English and Spanish is required, with the ability to effectively interpret conversations in a professional and legal setting.Working knowledge of case management softwareExcellent secretarial and organizational skillsAbility to juggle multiple activities and work under pressureTo apply: Apply through this posting.Hourly Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on relevant experience.Job Type: Full-timeCurrently offered benefits to eligible employees include:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceSupplemental insuranceLife insuranceShort-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coveragePaid time offPaid holidays as designated by the firm401 (k)Aside from a competitive salary and benefits package, at Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC we believe every role contributes to our mission of guiding and empowering our community.
