Our client is a leading Costa Rican destination business with a diverse portfolio spanning hospitality, dining, residential communities, development, entertainment, sport and leisure.

The company is seeking an entrepreneurial Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer (CMCO) to create a unified commercial vision across the portfolio and build the capabilities required to deliver it.

Reporting to the CEO, the CMCO will lead the development of a high-performing, centralized function spanning brand, customer engagement, digital, revenue generation and business development.

The role will focus on creating greater value from the connections between the company’s businesses—for example, turning visitors into repeat customers, residents, buyers, advocates and participants across multiple parts of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and strengthen the overall brand architecture, market proposition, and customer strategy.
• Build an integrated customer ecosystem encompassing data, CRM, loyalty, digital engagement and direct channels.
• Lead digital acquisition, communications, content, and customer conversion.
• Develop and execute marketing strategies for residential sales and new projects, including international demand generation.
• Identify and commercialize opportunities across events, sport, entertainment, and leisure.
• Create cross-business initiatives that increase customer lifetime value, visitation, referrals and revenue.
• Build, lead and develop a centralized marketing and commercial team, establishing the processes, capabilities and performance culture required for scale.
• Partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on growth strategy, investment priorities and commercial performance.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven, imaginative and data-informed leader who combines sophisticated marketing expertise with a strong instinct for growth and customer value.

They will be comfortable operating in a complex, consumer-facing environment and capable of turning a diverse collection of businesses into a coherent, high-value customer proposition.

Experience in international hospitality, resorts, lifestyle, mixed-use communities, branded residential projects, destination businesses or other consumer-led sectors would be highly relevant.

Entrepreneurial energy, commercial judgement, and a demonstrable track record of creating growth are essential.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the credibility to represent the organization with owners, investors, partners and other senior stakeholders.

Experience in international hospitality, resorts, lifestyle, mixed-use communities, branded residential projects, destination businesses or other consumer-led sectors would be highly relevant.
