Job Posting Title: School Psychologist - SSS - Mental Health Job Description: Serves students across all levels (PK-12) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention across special education and general education populations. Utilizes demonstrated knowledge, skills, and commitment needed to provide direct and indirect services that help students and youth succeed: academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Supports and establishes a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students in order to alleviate barriers to learning, engage students as individuals with unique interests and strengths, and promote student success at the student’s developmental level. Additionally, utilizes demonstrated expertise in assessment, data based decision-making skills and psycho-educational practices in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide indirect and direct services to students. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to implement crisis prevention, intervention, and response and recovery efforts. MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING: - A minimum of a Specialist Degree in School Psychology; hold a current Colorado Department of Education Special Services License as a School Psychologist. EQUIPMENT & VEHICLES USED: - Operate and use personal computers, related software and equipment (e.g., printer), telephone ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: - Work is performed in a school setting ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds - Frequent sitting - Occasional bending, squatting, or standing - Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position, including CPI certification Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Responsibilities: Maintain continuing education requirements for licensure. Effectively implement crisis prevention, intervention, response and recovery efforts. Document health related services in designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program. Effectively provide case management support. Attend district professional development opportunities in the areas of mental health and special education. Demonstrate expertise in assessment - including cognitive assessment, FBA/BIP creation, data based decision-making skills, and psycho-educational practices, in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide indirect and direct services to students. Maintain accurate and up to date records of every treatment/session delivered to students whether direct or indirect services. Information will be documented into both the current IEP system; and the current Medicaid system for students who are eligible for Medicaid reimbursement. Complete progress monitoring and progress reporting to obtain and communicate data regarding student advancement toward goals. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Effectively complete safety screenings and assessments. Effective planning, organizing, and implementing appropriate instructional programming in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential Support and establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students in order to: alleviate barriers to learning, engage students as individuals with unique interests and strengths, and promote student success at the student’s developmental level. Effectively establish and maintain collaborative relationships with school personnel, students and parents. Certifications: Special Services Provider License - School Psychologist - Colorado Department of Education Education: Master's Degree: Educational Psychology (Required) Position Type: Regular Primary Location: Franktown Elementary One Year Only (Yes or No): No Scheduled Hours Per Week: 8 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 0.20 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: 185 Work Days Full Salary Range: $62,150.00 USD - $131,345.00 USD Annual Position Salary Schedule Eligibility: Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire.
