Haas 5-Axis Milling Programmer–OperatorQuick Pitch
Love dialing in five-axis toolpaths and watching perfect chips curl? Join AMI Aviation Services, LLC to program, set up, and operate a Haas 5-axis CNC mill producing precision aircraft parts and prototypes for FAA PMA and STC initiatives.
Is this you?- Comfortable building efficient CAM strategies in Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidCAM, or similar?
- Fluent in reading CAD models and aerospace drawings with GD&T callouts?
- Ready to own the setup, prove-out, and first article—then optimize?
- Collaborative with Engineering and Quality when challenges arise?
- Program, refine, and maintain 5-axis CNC programs for complex geometries.
- Create high-integrity toolpaths using Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidCAM, or equivalent.
- Interpret CAD models, engineering drawings, and FAA-approved manufacturing data.
- Set up and operate Haas 5-axis milling machines with precision.
- Execute machine setup, run prove-outs, and complete first article validation.
- Support prototype work, PMA production runs, and STC-related fabrication.
- Keep tight revision control on programs and setup documentation.
- Team with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturability issues.
- 3+ years of 5-axis CNC programming and machining experience.
- Demonstrated experience programming and operating Haas 5-axis mills.
- Solid command of multi-axis machining strategies.
- Ability to read aerospace drawings and 3D CAD.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium in aerospace contexts.
- Track record of holding tight aerospace tolerances with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with FAA-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with PMA, STC, or prototype aircraft components.
- Exposure to aerospace quality systems and configuration control.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Aviation manufacturing and machine shop environment.
