Senior Control Systems Engineer

Job Title: Senior Controls System Engineer Full‑time position located in Indianapolis, IN. Overview Senior Control System Engineer responsible for owning assigned control system functions and interfaces, providing technical guidance to a small team, and mentoring junior engineers throughout the full life cycle development. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics, and mechatronics control system requirements, design, and verification product for safety‑critical applications in line with ARP‑4754A and DO‑178C guidance. Establish and maintain the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork across cross‑functional groups. Provide engineering and process guidance, training, and documentation support. Review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, and completeness. Resolve complex problems using technical experience and knowledge. Develop and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development engineering experience, OR Master’s degree in the same disciplines, OR PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering. Experience with requirements management. U.S. Citizen. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of product development engineering experience. Agile development methods for engineering work products. Experience with military qualification of airborne systems. FAA certification experience. Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience. Demonstrated experience with control system design and analysis tools. Model‑based systems development with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar digital engineering toolsets. Knowledge of systems engineering, robust design tools, and model‑centric development approaches. Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) or similar SysML modelling software.
