Overview
Our internship program offers a comprehensive and immersive experience designed to provide aspiring structural engineers with real-world exposure to the industry. As an intern, you will work alongside seasoned professionals on a variety of projects, ranging from industrial and commercial building designs to earth retention structures. You will gain hands-on experience in preparing structural plans, conducting product research, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications and local codes. This internship not only aims to enhance your technical skills but also fosters creativity and innovation by encouraging collaboration on new ideas and solutions. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited university.
- Major in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Demonstrates integrity and ethical work practices.
Learning Opportunities
- Assist in preparing proposals and statements of qualification.
- Conduct product research and document compliance with functional and code requirements.
- Write concise basis of design specifications for technical drawings.
- Respond to plan review comments during the permitting process.
- Participate in industrial and commercial building design projects and earth retention structures.
- Prepare structural calculations to support project requirements.
- Support engineers in completing project deliverables.
- Collaborate with team members on new ideas and innovations.
Additional Information
The Structural Engineering Internship is based in Atlanta, GA, and offers a competitive pay range of $20 to $22 per hour. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Please note that interns are not eligible for additional company benefits.
