Overview Job Description Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Details Entity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type: Employee Worker Sub-Type: Regular Cost Center: CC003728 COL - Pre-Op Testing (DMC) Pay Rate Type: Hourly Pay Grade: Health-28 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Responsibilities Deliver individualized, goal-directed patient care and collaborate with the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. Maintain safe, effective care using nursing process principles. Minimum Training and Education Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an AHA-recognized equivalent; or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, climbing stairs, frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; ability to work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes; ability to work from elevated areas and in confined spaces; good vision and hearing with correction; ability to deal with stress; ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required; ability to work in a latex-safe environment; maintain tactile sensory functions.
