Database Administrator – ConsultantWork Arrangement: Columbia, SC Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Contract Duration: 12 months Extension: Possible Interview Process: 1 round – Virtual/Online Candidate Location Requirement: MUST be a South Carolina resident (no relocation allowed)Position SummaryThe Client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator – Consultant to support enterprise Oracle database environments. The consultant will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability configurations, and collaboration with development teams to support mission-critical systems.Daily Duties / ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support Oracle Database environments including Oracle 11g and 12c.Perform full lifecycle database administration activities including installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.Demonstrate strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, physical structures, and performance analysis.Execute database planning, scaling, and capacity management activities.Design and optimize databases including data modeling, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.Support software development life cycle activities by working closely with development teams.Deploy, configure, and maintain Oracle technologies including:Oracle Data GuardOracle Enterprise ManagerOracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM)Oracle ACFSOracle GoldenGateOracle RACPerform and configure RMAN backup and recovery operations.Ensure database availability, integrity, and security.Follow ITIL, ITSM, Managed Services, DevOps, and SOA operational best practices.Communicate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and management through written and verbal updates.Required Skills (Ranked by Importance)Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business field.7+ years of experience in a Development or Service Administration role.5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.Experience performing and configuring RMAN backup and recovery.Experience working with development teams (5+ years).Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle database installations, and Oracle RAC.Exposure to ITIL, ITSM, Managed Services, DevOps, and SOA operational models.Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.About UsInterSources Inc. is a Small, Woman, and Minority-Owned Business Enterprise, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 certified company with massive 18+ years of diversified experience in providing IT Consulting Services, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Application Development, Cloud Services, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, ERP Management, Custom Software Development, Web Development, UI/ UX Design, System Integration, QA Support etc. We make reasonable accommodations for clients and employees, and we do not discriminate based on any protected attribute including race, religion, color, national origin, gender sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or marital status.
