Graphic DesignerBe the visual storyteller behind one of the Army's premier educational institutions — from the camera lens to the printed page to the front-lobby display. The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College is seeking a versatile Graphic Designer to deliver high-quality photography, printed materials, and information graphics that showcase the college's people and mission. This role covers a broad range of visual media responsibilities, including event photography, printed information products, information graphics design, and daily operation of the command headquarters' internal information display. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the CGSC Public Affairs Office to ensure all products are professional, accurate, and delivered on tight deadlines.FWI is expanding rapidly and has been recognized as a 2024 and 2025 Top Workplace by the Washington Post, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.Work Schedule and Location:On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM at Fort Leavenworth, KS.ResponsibilitiesGraphic Design:Research, design, and produce printed products, such as brochures, flyers, programs, and handoutsDevelop a concept and proposed timeline and submit for approvalDesign products using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Microsoft Office softwareEnsure all products are free of errors and consistent with AP Stylebook conventionsResearch, design, and produce information graphics from raw data or government-provided draftsPerform daily start-up, preparation, and loading of display content no later than 30 minutes after the start of each business dayPrepare and schedule welcome messages for key visitors as directedMonitor the display system to ensure sustained operation and report any errors or issues promptlyPhotography:Provide photographic coverage of CGSC and subordinate-unit events (graduations, VIP visits, award ceremonies, staff/student photos, etc.)Ensure photos are reviewed, selected, and ready for use or public release within 6 hours of the eventProcess images using Adobe Photoshop or similar professional softwareStore finalized images to the DVIDs platform within 24 hours of the eventGeneral:Maintain organized digital storage and easy retrieval of all photo, print, and graphic assetsSupport occasional events outside normal work hours (approximately six times per year)Contribute input to monthly status reports on task progress and deliverablesQualificationsRequired:Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in photography and/or graphic designProficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and IllustratorWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and/or Microsoft PublisherStrong eye for composition, editing, and visual storytellingAbility to manage multiple concurrent deadlines across different product typesAbility to pass background checks and maintain a favorable Tier 1 (T1) suitability determinationPortfolio demonstrating past design and photography workDesired:Bachelor's degreeExperience supporting military, government, or other public affairs/communications organizationsFamiliarity with AP Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law standardsFamiliarity with digital signage or AV display systemsFWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.Why Join Our TeamAt FWI, we place the highest importance on creating an exceptional employee experience.
