Associate Attorney

Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions and position letters, and provide coverage advice to clients. Conduct rigorous legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda. Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage. Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties. Attend arbitrations, hearings, and mediations, as needed. Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients. Take depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required. Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs. Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients. Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis. Draft discovery requests and discovery responses. Review and analyze documents and materials for production. Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies. Actively and effectively report to our insurance carrier clients and insureds. Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation. Requirements 3–5 years of experience in insurance coverage. Admitted to practice in California. Additional bar admissions are a plus. Experience in working on complex insurance coverage matters. Litigation experience is a plus. Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters. Effective problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
