- Conduct Hazardous and Solid Waste evaluations of proposed construction, training, and other installation projects for environmental requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with consulting firms to reduce unnecessary costs to the government and coordinates with appropriate environmental agencies.
- Provide analysis of environmental laws, policies, and regulations as they apply to Solid and Hazardous Waste.
- Perform duties as as the Project Lead for the Hazardous and Solid Waste compliance process.
- Participate in site selection evaluations,
- Assure environmental compliance related to installation construction, demolition, renovation, training, and other types of installation projects/activities.
- Write, edit, or oversee contracted Hazardous and Solid Waste document completions.
- Review contract submittal, drawing, and schedule.
- Assist other environmental programs and projects.
- Serve as the Project Lead for the Hazardous and Solid Waste compliance process.
- Represents the installation in scoping meetings, workshops, public meetings, such as conservation district hearings for permitted activities .
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations
