DescriptionJOB ANNOUNCEMENTFINANCIAL ANALYST-FIXED ASSETSChicago Department of AviationFinance DivisionNumber of Positions: 1(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)Starting Salary: BX15, $71,772.00/yearApplications for this position will be accepted from 9/21/26, until 11:59pm CDT on 10/5/26The Chicago Department of Aviation is seeking a Financial Analyst to perform complex financial analysis of fiscal/cost data for City programs and services.ESSENTIAL DUTIES· Maintain a fixed Asset register for CDA through CityWorks and accurately transmit it to DOF· Record additions, transfers, retirements and disposals, ensure proper capitalization per government capitalization threshold policy· Calculate the post depreciation in compliance to GASB No 34· Track Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) for capital improvement projects and coordinate capitalization upon substantial completion· Support preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reporting (ACFR) fixed asset footnotes and schedules· Coordinate with Engineering/Capital Projects staff to ensure capital project costs are properly classified· Conduct periodic physical inventory of fixed assets, including and reconciliation for insurance and stewardship purposes· Support external audits and state oversight agencies· Assist with lease accounting under GASB 87 and subscription-based IT arrangements under GASB 96Additional duties may be required for this position.Location: 8420 W. Bryn Mawr Ave, 6th FL, Chicago, IL 60631Days: Monday-FridayHours: 8:30 AM-4:30 PMTHIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICEQualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher, in Finance, Accounting, or a directly related field, PLUS one (1) year of work experience in the analysis of financial recordsDESIRED SKILLS:· 2 years of work experience in the analysis of financial records· Strong Excel Skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)· Familiarity with capital improvement programs (CIP) and infrastructure asset tracking· Detail-oriented with strong reconciliation, analytical, and audit-support skills· CPA, CGFM or progress towards certification a plusSELECTION REQUIREMENTSThis position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview.
