Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for effectively and efficiently maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, as well as performing preventive maintenance following corporate standards for quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. Adhere to quality guidelines and GMP standards. Train other employees as directed or needed. Communicate effectively with personnel, both verbally and in writing, in English and/or Spanish. Operate cranes, trucks or motor vehicles, and forklifts and/or powered industrial equipment. Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment. Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs, and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Perform machinist duties and responsibilities. Use mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Use hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report to proper supervision. Maintain cleanliness of work area. Understand communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Performance Measures Adherence to safety policies and procedures. Quality of work. Production goals. Required Education and Certification High school diploma or equivalent. AA Degree. Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance background. Desired Experience Completion of a craft apprenticeship. Production maintenance experience. At least 4 years of manufacturing experience. Mechanical, electrical and industrial skills. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Safety-sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as required. Teamwork capability. Ability to operate in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people. Excellent communication skills. English reading, writing and comprehension. Highly motivated and able to work independently. Read, comprehend and complete blueprints, electrical schematics, maintenance manuals, work orders, and repair part requests. Operate measuring equipment such as tape measure, micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM. Advanced machine operations and mechanical functions knowledge. Disassemble, repair, troubleshoot, overhaul and rebuild plant machines. Essentials Mid‑shift position – core hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. May require overtime.
