ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s financial records. This role plays a critical part in monthly closing, inventory accounting, margin analysis, and financial reporting, while supporting audits, internal controls, and continuous process improvement. Potential growth opportunities into a leadership role. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and year end close activities. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and accruals Ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Analyze P&L and balance sheet fluctuations and explain variances. Support preparation of internal management reporting and KPIs. Inventory & Cost Accounting Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts Review inventory valuation, reserves and obsolescence Partner with operations and purchasing to resolve inventory discrepancies Accounts & Operational Accounting Review Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & cash application accounting impacts. Ensure accurate revenue recognition, freight, rebates and vendor programs Review fixed asset accounting and depreciation Audit, Controls & Compliance Prepare audit schedules and serve as a key audit liaison Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies Support banking, insurance and lender reporting requirements Systems & Process Improvement Thorough understanding of workflows within NetSuitee and financial reporting tools Identify and implement process efficiencies and automation Support system upgrades, integrations and reporting enhancements Train and mentor accounting team members QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor's degreee in accounting or finance 5-8 Years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of US GAAP Advance excel skills, ERP experience (NetSuite strongly preferred) Preferred CPA Experience with branch based or multi location operations Exposure to rebates, vendor programs and freight accounting Experience in distribution, wholesale or inventory intensive environments #J-18808-Ljbffr
