Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager

You'll lead complex and diverse structural projects, mentor engineers, strengthen client relationships, and help expand Bennett & Pless' presence in the market.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading projects and teams while remaining actively involved in structural design. With offices across the Southeast and Midwest, we combine the resources of a growing firm with a collaborative culture, technical excellence, and a commitment to developing our people.What You'll DoLead the design and analysis of structural systems for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects across multiple market sectors.Manage structural engineering projects and lead project teams, ensuring successful delivery through compliance with applicable codes, client requirements, budgets, schedules, and Bennett & Pless QA/QC standards.Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other project partners throughout all phases of design and construction.Perform site visits, structural assessments, investigations, and construction milestone reviews.Develop cost-effective engineering solutions, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration activities.Mentor and oversee junior engineers and designers by providing technical guidance, coaching, and quality reviews.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license.10+ years of structural engineering experience.Experience managing structural engineering projects, leading project teams, and successfully balancing multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective client and team relationships.Experience designing steel and concrete structures, including low- to mid-rise buildings with shallow foundation systems.Proficiency with Revit and structural analysis/modeling software used in the design of building structures.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.Experience with masonry, high wind/seismic design, wood design, and/or other specialized structural systems.Experience supporting business development through proposal development, technical content, or responses to RFQs/RFPs.We believe growth and culture go hand in hand.As Bennett & Pless continues to grow, experienced engineers have opportunities to expand their influence, build lasting client relationships, and help shape the future of the organization.
