Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Cardiac RNs!

Job Description:


- Shift : 12-Hour Nights
- Schedule : 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week rotation
- Floating Requirements : May be asked to float into various acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele.

Unit Highlights :
- Patient Ratios : 1:4 for day shift; 1:5 for night shift
- Common Diagnoses :
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Hypertension
- Chest pain work-ups
- COPD exacerbations
- Asthma
- Pneumonia
- Pancreatitis
- Bowel obstructions
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
- Acute renal failure

Essential Skills Required :
- Experience with cardiac drips and post-catheterization care
- Ability to titrate drips, including:
- Analgesics for pain
- Anticoagulants for blood clots
- Antihypertensives for blood pressure control

Team Structure :
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor available
- Nurse Aids present on the unit (approx. 10-12:1 ratio)
- Telemetry monitoring supported by techs (24/7)
- RNs responsible for co-signing telemetry strips

Scheduling Flexibility :
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling
- Minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule

Dress Code :
- Caribbean blue scrubs for RNs

Orientation :
- Unit/Department specific orientation assigned during the first week

Cancellation Policy :
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for shorter assignments

Charting System :
- EPIC

Guaranteed Hours :
- 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 91 weeks
