Job Title: Installation Technician Job Description

The Installation Technician provides on-site product support and technical expertise at a major semiconductor facility. This role focuses on installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining specialized equipment, including vacuum pumps, abatement systems, and gas and chemical delivery systems. The technician diagnoses and resolves faults, performs preventive maintenance, and completes all tasks with precision while strictly following safety procedures and best practices.

• Install, commission, and service equipment throughout the customer’s facility, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers on-site, addressing equipment issues promptly and professionally.
• Diagnose and remedy faults on vacuum pumps, abatement systems, and gas and chemical delivery systems using electromechanical skills.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Use detailed electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering drawings to plan and execute installation and service tasks.
• Utilize test equipment, including various test meters and micrometers, as well as hand tools and power tools, to troubleshoot and verify system performance.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Document work performed, including maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status, in a clear and accurate manner.
• Follow all safety procedures, including working at height with approved fall protection equipment and operating in confined or awkward spaces when required.
• Collaborate with site personnel and other technicians to coordinate work, share technical knowledge, and ensure smooth operations.
• Use basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, to complete reports, communicate with stakeholders, and maintain service records.
• Drive company or customer vehicles as required, adhering to all driving and safety regulations.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with installation and maintenance in an industrial environment.
• Experience working with vacuum pumps, abatement systems, and gas and chemical delivery systems.
• Competence in using test equipment, including various test meters and micrometers.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to use and understand detailed electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to speak distinctly and see and hear clearly.
• Ability to work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods of time.
• Ability to complete required training to work at height using approved fall protection equipment.
• Successful completion of a Physical Capability assessment.
• Clean driving record suitable for work-related driving responsibilities.

• Experience providing technical service and support in a high-tech or semiconductor environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with complex electromechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues independently.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, supervisors, and team members.
• Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Comfort working long shifts and maintaining focus and attention to detail throughout the day.

This role operates on a first-shift schedule, typically from 5:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing three consecutive days off each week. You will work in a clean, temperature-controlled industrial facility within a large semiconductor site. The position involves regular use of test equipment such as meters and micrometers, as well as hand tools and power tools, in and around complex vacuum, abatement, and gas and chemical delivery systems. You may be required to work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods and to work at height using approved fall protection equipment, following all safety protocols. The environment emphasizes precision, safety, and adherence to technical procedures while collaborating with experienced supervisors and technical teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
