Occupational Therapist (OT) Acute Care PRN

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care Rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. This flexible opportunity is ideal for experienced clinicians seeking supplemental work or new graduates looking to build valuable hospital-based experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence, improve functional performance, and safely transition to the next level of care. Working alongside physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and case management teams, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

What You'll Do:

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based interventions focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, self-care, and independence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop coordinated plans of care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment recommendations, and home programs.
• Assist with discharge planning and recommendations for continued services.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress within the electronic medical record.

Patient Population:

Work with a diverse adult patient population recovering from orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, medical, and surgical conditions in an acute care hospital setting.

Qualifications:

• Current Tennessee Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred but not required.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and time management skills.
