Medical Records Specialist

Job Description

JOPLIN GARDENS, located in Joplin, Missouri is currently seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join our team.

Medical Records Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

Collects, assembles, checks and files residents’ charts as required
Ensures records and charts are kept current as required
Assists in recording all incidents/accidents in accordance to established guidelines
Participates with other team members in planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care and other patient activities
Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
Retrieves medical records when requested by authorized personnel
Maintains environmental conditions conducive to the comfort and safety of patients
Ensures that no records leave the building without the Administrators approval
Performs other duties as assigned

Medical Records Specialist Qualifications and Skills:

LPN Licensure: 1 year (Preferred)
Medical Record Experience
Ability to keep accurate well-organized records
