Progressive Care Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse at Methodist Hospital Texsan, you’ll have all the staffing support, technology and resources you need to deliver safe, high-quality care—so you can focus on what you do best. Job Summary The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre‑operative and post‑operative nursing care and serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving them proactively. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management. Qualifications you will need Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree in registered nursing. Minimum six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse. One (1) year of critical care experience as a licensed Registered Nurse preferred. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or Multi‑State Compact license (employees with an RN Compact license must obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of hire).
