Job Description

The Role

This is a hands-on role that brings warehouse fulfillment and customer care together. You’ll help customers by phone and support them with questions and returns, while also picking, packing, and shipping orders with care. The work includes handling a range of products, from clothing and linens to fragile pottery and foam machines, as well as helping unload deliveries and keep our space organized.

We’re looking for someone who is professional, observant, dependable, and happy to pitch in wherever the day’s work is needed.

What You’ll Do

• Pick, pack, and ship orders accurately and on time.
• Pack fragile items, including pottery, carefully and securely.
• Process returns and support customers through the return process.
• Answer customer calls and help resolve questions with warmth, patience, and professionalism.
• Help receive and unload deliveries of clothing, linens, pottery, and other products.
• Inspect incoming items and flag damage, shortages, or other concerns.
• Keep an eye on inventory and let the team know when supplies or products are running low and may need to be reordered.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse and customer care area.
• Help with routine cleaning and light upkeep of the space and equipment.
• Pitch in on other seasonal warehouse and customer service needs as they arise.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in Modern Prairie and the products and community we serve.
• Strong customer service skills and a calm, professional manner on the phone.
• Care and attention to detail when handling orders, returns, and inventory.
• Good observation skills and the ability to notice when something is damaged, missing, low in stock, or out of place.
• Comfort with active, hands-on work, including standing, moving, lifting, and unloading deliveries.
• Reliability, flexibility, and a team-first attitude during a busy seasonal period.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn our order and inventory systems.

This position requires the ability to safely lift and move boxes and products as part of regular warehouse work. We’ll provide guidance on safe handling and packing procedures.

If you enjoy helping customers and making sure every order leaves with care, we’d love to hear from you.

Hours, Compensation, and Benefits

• Status: Non‐exempt, hourly.
• Typical schedule: 10-22 hours/week; may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime during peak periods.
• Pay: Competitive hourly range based on experience (~$11 to $14/hour).
• Seasonal begins now through the middle of January 2027

Preferred Skills and Attributes

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‐paced environment.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Initiative to identify and solve operational issues.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

• Employer is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics.
