Staff Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical (Multiple Locations)

Description Burns & McDonnell offers an opportunity for Electrical Engineers to work on mission‑critical data center projects, directly supporting our Mission Critical team in a multibillion‑dollar industry that is expanding rapidly. Responsibilities Design electrical systems/equipment to provide for a useful and safe workplace. Advise clients regarding electrical systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with safety codes. Monitor installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes. Participate in developing the design criteria for protective device coordination, relay applications, medium voltage transformers, switchgear, medium and low voltage distribution. Review electrical designs and specifications of equipment or systems being purchased or fabricated. Develop concept studies and design. Enforce standards and practices. Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Bachelor Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem‑solving skills. Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
