CNC Grinder Machinist

Overview Candidates with experience on a Studer S41 CNC Grinder preferred. Responsibilities Loads, unloads, stops, and starts manual and/or CNC machines. Performs repeat setups. Listens to the machine during operation to detect sounds indicating worn/dull grinding wheels (in need of dressing). Measures dimensions of finished pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and fixtures. Selects and mounts grinding wheels on machines according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures. Dresses grinding wheels according to specifications. Required Skills/Abilities Must be able to operate various types of machines such as surface grinders, CNC grinding machines, and/or manual grinding machines, as well as perform their maintenance. Knowledge of blueprint reading, calipers, micrometers, and basic trigonometry or math skills is a must. Ability to use math to solve problems. Knowledge of GD&T. Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent. A minimum of 1–3 years of experience working with various metals.
