About This Role Apex Fintech Solutions is looking for a PCEP Intern to join a high‑volume, high‑availability trade clearing suite development team. The role involves building cloud‑native (GCP/AWS) event‑driven services using Apache Kafka and microservices, and transforming our products into the next‑generation clearing platform. What you will do Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software Learn and apply design techniques and coding standards coached by senior engineers Build resilient, self‑scaling, self‑healing services Support production systems, including build, deployment (CI/CD), and monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty) Write high‑quality, well‑tested code and perform code reviews What you can expect A highly collaborative environment focused on outcomes A culture that values a test‑centric approach; 100% unit test coverage is the expectation End‑to‑end ownership of deployments, from documentation to service‑level objectives Access to mentors, generous conference and book reimbursement policies, and regular lunch and learns Quarterly 2‑day hackathons An environment committed to using the right tools to get the job done Work that matters The skills you'll need to succeed Pursuing a BA, BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 0–2+ years of experience as a software developer or similar role Ability to quickly learn new technologies, languages, tools, frameworks Excellent verbal and written communication skills Financial services background is a plus Preferred skills Real passion for software engineering demonstrated by internships, work experience, projects, or publications Familiarity with common design patterns Interest in backend or full‑stack software development Previous knowledge of financial markets or a strong interest in learning them Our Rewards Health care benefits (medical, dental, vision, employee assistance program), competitive paid time off, 401(k) match, parental leave, HSA contribution match.
