ABOUT JFCSJewish Family & Children's Services of Southern Arizona (JFCS) is a nonprofit, non-sectarian behavioral health agency that provides specialized therapy, counseling, and social services to the greater Tucson community. For over 80 years, JFCS has helped thousands of children, families, adults and seniors regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, age or ability to pay.POSITION SUMMARYThe Clinical Therapist will be responsible for performing psychotherapy services including assessment, treatment plan development, crisis and discharge planning as well as individual, group and family counseling for clients. The clinician is responsible for reviewing and signing all clinical documentation in a timely manner. The Clinical Therapist will also act as a clinical consultant to the treatment team as indicated and will collaborate with outside agencies as required in delivering services.JFCS offers exceptional clinical training opportunities and clinical supervision. Graduates from clinical programs and associate level clinicians interested in obtaining independent licensure are supervised by seasoned supervisors who meet the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AzBBHE) requirements for clinical supervisors.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESProvide psychotherapy specific to the client's identified treatment needs through individual, family or group therapy. This could include, but not be limited to, trauma-focused treatment, CBT, play therapy and other evidenced-based treatmentsProvide client advocacy and assistance when appropriate to the client's clinical progressEnsure that each client has appropriate clinical documentation, including but not limited to, clinical assessments, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, crisis plans and discharge plansMeet treatment standards as specified in contracts or special grants, and agency protocols in terms of timeliness of service, number and duration of services provided, and timeliness of paperwork and reporting completionAdhere to agency protocols, legal and contract requirements, and professional standards regarding documentation and electronic record keepingWhen clinically appropriate, advocate and assist clients in seeking other appropriate services or supports in the communityCollaborate with outside agencies when necessary for the treatment of the clientAttend weekly supervision as directed by Clinical SupervisorPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedWORK HOURS, SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITYWork hours are afternoons and evenings to 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and morning and afternoon to 4:00 PM on Friday, and are located in office. COMMUNICATION AND INTERFACEEngage in respectful and ongoing communication and problem solving with othersAct as a positive and professional ambassador for the Agency both internally and in the greater communityCollaborate and consult with other staff members and participate in supervision on therapeutic practices and case presentationCoordinate and collaborate with outside agencies and services when needed as part of the client's therapy and treatment planningEstablish positive therapeutic relationships with clientsDeliver high quality service in a wide range of situationsAdherence to highest ethical standardsAbility to work with and engage in service with difficult and/or ambivalent individuals and familiesPROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENTExcellent ability to analyze data and identify trendsFollow established procedures while being creative and taking initiativeAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionTake all practical steps to ensure a work environment that is safe, friendly, helpful and free from harassment or bullyingMust be able to handle all facets of the business both standard and non-standard situationsREQUIREMENTSMaster 's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, or related behavioral health fieldLicensed in the State of Arizona at the Associate level or eligible for state licensure (i.e., demonstrate having passed the licensure exam or approval by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to take the licensure exam) at the time of hire and obtain licensure within six months of hire, preferred but not required Working knowledge of community resourcesExperience working with individual affected by substance use and domestic violence preferredStrong written, verbal, presentation and communication skillsPositive attitude, proactive mentality, responsive, and strong work ethicFollow established procedures while being creative and taking initiativeMust be willing to accept feedback, and respond in professional mannerJFCS is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
