Position: Registered Nurse - Peri-Anesthesia Nursing

Location: City, State

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Peri-Anesthesia unit. The ideal candidate will provide individualized nursing care to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients throughout the admission and discharge process.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will utilize their knowledge of peri-anesthesia nursing and pharmacology to deliver competent nursing care. Responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments, managing airways, understanding pharmacy interactions, and ensuring patient safety.

Requirements

Current California RN Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Minimum of 2 years of PACU RN experience, preferably in a high-acuity care hospital setting
Experience in Cath Lab preferred

Shift Details

Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts
Start times: 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM
No weekend shifts required
Floating to other campuses may be required as needed

Skills

Airway assessment and management
Central line care and management
Conscious sedation administration and monitoring
Cardiac arrest management and cardioversion
IV vasopressor management
Patient monitoring techniques including End-Tidal CO2 monitoring
Interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare teams

Patient Care Details

Patient age groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics, and Pediatrics
Daily Census: 40-50 patients
Patient Ratios: 2 patients per nurse

Compliance and Orientation

All candidates must complete required labs within 3-5 days of contract signing and provide a 7-year work history verification. Orientation hours will total 24 hours.

Additional Information

Only candidates with the specified skills and certifications will be considered.
Travel experience is required for this position.
