Maintenance Technician Position

Maintenance Technician Position Summary

Maintenance team members troubleshoot, repair, replace, install, and test car wash related equipment to ensure customers receive a safe and valued experience. Maintenance Team Members report to the Maintenance Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute the Mike's Mission, achieve our Vision, and deliver on our Team Member Promise. This includes being a "role model" for our managers' and associates' behavior and performance.
• Reduce Wash Downtime. Review Wash Shutdown reports when received. Evaluate causes of downtime and generate a game plan for preventing similar issues in the future. Discuss your game plan and findings with your District Manager.
• Ensure Fix It Books are updated daily. Update all Fix It Book items with a comment or a solution to ensure consistent communications with the respective location. Prioritize Fix It Books entries by: Safety, Quality, Shutdown issues.
• Communicate Effectively with District Manager. Complete a weekly 1 on 1 agenda and schedule a weekly meeting with your District Manager.
• Maintain Location, Maintenance Van, and City Parts on Hand. Complete Part on Hand at each assigned location each month. Complete Maintenance Van Parts On Hand each month. Assist assigned locations with POH concerns. Communicate to the Maintenance Director any updates to the POH as needed.
• Conduct Scheduled Manager Maintenance Training. Complete and submit a sign in sheet for attendance for each class and return to Payroll and Training. Participate in Manager Review boards when asked.
• Complying with all company policies and procedures.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Schedule Requirements

• Work up to 40 Hours per week
• Work 5 days a week Most days will be 5A 1P
• Night projects will be shared evenly amongst the entire Maintenance Team
• Each Maintenance Team Member is required to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays per Month
• Participate in the On Call rotation shared evenly amongst the Maintenance Team by answering when you are on call and going in to help locations as directed by a District Manager or Area Director.

This position requires the employee to communicate verbally and in writing, hear at a conversational level, use vision for depth perception and to distinguish between basic shades and colors. This position will require the operation of a vehicle. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will continuously (67-100% time on job) be required to stand or walk. The employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to sit, stoop, reach, crawl, or twist at the waist while rotating. The employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) perform repetitive movements, use hands for gripping pressure, and operate hand and foot controls. The employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to pull 50 lbs. for up to 20 feet, push up to 50 lbs. for up to 20 feet, lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 50 lbs. for 20 feet. The employee may also be required to repeatedly bend, kneel, and balance. The employee will occasionally (6-33% time on job) be required to climb stairs and ladders. The employee will infrequently (2-5% time on job) be required to enter confined spaces using a harness.

The employee will continuously (67-100% time on job) be required to work indoors, in temperatures of 40-80 degrees, around moving vehicles, with ladders/scaffolds, and wear safety shoes/boots. The employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to work with machinery with moving parts and wear gloves. The employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to work outdoors, in temperatures of 20-95 degrees. The employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to work alone or with dust, odors, noise, and vibrations. The employee will continuously (67-100% time on job) be required to work with chemicals, wear eye or hearing protection, a hard hat, respirator, or body protection.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Reasoning and Development: Ability to deal with practical problems and implement appropriate solutions.
2. Mathematical Development: Ability to perform basic math such as: adding, subtracting, and dividing all units of measure.
3. Language Development: Ability to read product manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; using correct English; Speak with poise and confidence and/or effectively deal with customers.
4. Computer and Software Applications Knowledge or Skills: Basic proficiency with the following Microsoft Office applications: Word and Excel. Ability to learn and use our inventory (Parts on Hand), ordering (ReQlogic), and project management (Fix It Book) systems.
5. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
