The Reality Capture Technician is responsible for independently conducting LiDAR scans of land and structures at client sites. This role requires prior experience with LiDAR scanning technologies, a passion for technology and learning, and a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection. The Reality Capture Technician also serves as a key point of contact for clients, representing the company professionally and ensuring exceptional service. All collected data will play a critical role in supporting BIM/VDC models. This role is 100% travel-based with varying working hours based on client and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-precision LiDAR scans of client sites, ensuring complete and accurate data collection.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain scanning equipment, including RTC Leica or similar.
• Perform reality capture registration and ensure high-quality processing of collected data.
• Input scans and detailed, accurate data into company systems for further modeling and analysis.
• Review scan results to confirm data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
• Stay up to date with emerging reality capture technologies and industry advancements.
• Serve as the company's representative on-site, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service.
• Communicate effectively with clients, addressing any questions or concerns during the scanning process.
• Support the development of strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.

• Minimum of one to two years of experience in LiDAR scanning and reality capture.
• Prior experience with scanners such as Leica, NavVis VLX, Faro, or similar.
• Experience working on large-scale high-tech construction sites.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring high accuracy in scans and data processing.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for client-facing interactions.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site.
• Passion for technology and learning, with the ability to adapt to evolving industry tools.
• OSHA 10 Construction Certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

• Experience with reality capture registration is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Leica Register 360 or Cyclone software is highly preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Must be 21+ in order to rent a car.

This position involves 100% travel, primarily Monday through Friday. Employees will receive a per diem for daily expenses, with hotels, cars, and flights arranged for them. Candidates must live local to Phoenix, AZ. The role is overtime eligible and requires the ability to walk, stand, and move across uneven terrain for extended periods. Regularly lifting and carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs) is part of the job. Work is conducted outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather. Willingness to travel for training or to support client sites is necessary, and the ability to safely drive rental vehicles is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
