Join Our Team as a Primary Care Physician

Our organization is seeking dedicated Primary Care Physicians to provide exceptional care for our Veterans, who are truly America's Heroes . This rewarding position encompasses a range of services including preventive medicine, neurology, infectious disease, laboratory, and audiology care. As one of nine VA clinics, we serve over 80,000 Veterans in the Inland Empire.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer clinical supervision and guidance to mid-level practitioners, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
• Engage actively in Medical Center committees and collaborative teams.
• Contribute to various facility initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care delivery, including Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams.
• Identify personal professional development needs and participate in formal training programs, workshops, seminars, and self-directed learning activities. Complete mandatory education annually.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult outpatients, particularly those aged 65 and older.
• Stay updated on advancements in disease management and treatment through ongoing medical education.
• Effectively integrate patient care activities within Primary Care Services and other programs, collaborating with Social Work, Prosthetics, Home-Based Health Care (HBHC), and private nursing facilities.
• Exhibit proficiency in diagnosing and managing complex, multi-symptomatic patients.
• Ensure timely completion of medical record documentation in CPRS.
• Involve patients, families, and healthcare providers in setting realistic, measurable health education goals and treatment plans.
• Plan, implement, and assess care tailored to individual patient needs.
• Utilize advanced clinical judgment and assessment skills to evaluate Veterans' health.
• Identify acute, non-acute, and chronic health issues.
• Participate in grading sessions for medical students and GME trainees assigned to your services.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive Salary: Annual salary ranges from $250,000 to $265,000, with potential exceptions.
• Performance Awards: Eligible for up to $15,000 in additional annual performance pay.

• Thrift Savings Plan: Contribute up to $22,500 annually with a 5% agency match, vesting after three years of service.
• Survivor Benefits: Eligibility for survivor benefits after ten years of service.
• Annual Leave: Receive 208 hours (approximately 26 days) of annual leave, along with paid vacation, unlimited sick leave, and 11 paid federal holidays from the start.
• Continuing Education: Earn CME credits at no cost, with potential for $1,000 or more annually and five or more days of paid leave to attend courses (conditions apply).
• Credit for Military Service: Service credits from military time can be carried over to your federal employment for retirement calculations.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Possess a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of Internal Medicine Residency Training.

Preferred Experience

• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, with a preference for five years of hospitalist experience.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
