Patient Care Tech 2 - Med/Surg A4 FT 7P

Job Title

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities, as well as POC Testing, EKGs, Phlebotomy, as needed. Performs IV starts and urinary foley catheter insertions, according to competency guidelines.

Reports to: Director Medical/Surgical B2 & A4

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent - Required

State Certified Nurse Aide, can be considered without High school diploma or equivalent

Patient Care Technician education - Preferred

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer proficiency required

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross Certification) must be obtained within 30 days of employment if not current upon hire.

Licenses: State of Tennessee Certified Nurse Aide licensure or EMT licensure - Preferred

Minimum Work Experience

One (1) year certified nurse tech or EMT experience
