Job Title: Buyer II Location: Olathe, KS Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Vantage MedTech provides comprehensive design and manufacturing services, supporting the advancement of medical technologies from concept through to product realization. We are developing new products for various medical conditions and seek top‑tier talent to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide. The Buyer II will serve as the subject‑matter expert in sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationship management across both the Manufacturing and Tech Services parts of the business. The buyer will develop and execute strategies to support company initiatives and continuously improve purchasing and supplier management standards and processes. In collaboration with New Product Introduction project teams, the role supports sustainable production, Supply Chain planning, production supplier selection, and prototype ordering. NOTE: This is not a remote opportunity. The position is based in Olathe, KS. Local candidates only. Relocation assistance is not offered. Responsibilities Evaluate and maintain purchasing parameters, supplier information, and supply‑and‑demand balances, and generate and manage purchase orders to ensure uninterrupted production using the company ERP system. Research the market to identify and develop a robust supply base. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers with an emphasis on cost, quality, and on‑time delivery. Coordinate order volumes and material deliveries to obtain optimal pricing. Develop strong business relationships with key suppliers by regularly sharing feedback on supply and quality performance and maintaining regular communication channels. Ensure that appropriate action is taken in response to component shortages to prevent interruption of product supply. Education & Experience 5 years in purchasing with experience in a manufacturing/regulated industry environment. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to anticipate changing business needs related to purchases. Adaptable self‑starter who will effectively develop strategies that drive the company vision, mission, and values. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to effectively support internal teams and key suppliers. Experience with sourcing and new project launches is a plus.
