Job Description & Compensation

• 10,000.00 sign on (1-year commitment) - To qualified candidates
• 3,000.00 relocation (To qualified candidates)

SHIFT: Evening shift 2p-10:30p Monday to Friday with rotating weekends (one out of three weekends.) Responsibilities Guides technicians and support staff, resolves customer service issues, and supports clinical staff education as needed. Participates in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures. Assists with data collection and special projects as assigned. Follows safety policies, including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and completes required training for handling hazardous waste. Maintains current knowledge through written or electronic communication and accepts accountability for staying informed. Performs various support activities to facilitate the operation of the assigned department or work area. Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, specimen collection, processing, cleaning, disinfection, quality control, and calibration. Completes post-analytical activities, reports results, and provides technical support for laboratory testing across all age groups. Documents and submits required laboratory, departmental, and staff statistics and reports. May act as a preceptor in orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students, documenting their progress. Conducts all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to established procedures and standards. Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical skills and aptitudes related to laboratory testing, procedures, and processes performed in the department or work area assigned. [Required] Ensures adherence of staff to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times. [Required] Ability to work independently and adapt to varying priorities, including directing workflow with minimal supervision. [Required] Ability to maintain equipment/records and perform quality assessment activities. [Required] Ability to operate computer systems to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documents. [Required] Ability to educate and train new staff in medical laboratory settings. [Required] Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients, family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals. [Required] Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English. [Required] Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required] Education and Field of Study Associates [Required] Field of Study In a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR successful completion of at least a 50-week official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); or qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024.
